Kicking off Foster Care Awareness Month, we’re so grateful for funders & supporters who
help make the work we do possible! Our village continues to show out for our youth, and our
recent Virtual Table Read was no different.
As we heard 4 of the scripts from this year’s group of TAY foster youth [transitional age youth,
18-22] participating in our 5-week Virtual Screenwriting Course, our supporters were on the
edge of their seats for each of the scripts & gave invaluable feedback to our writers to help
with their final edits before our 2nd annual National Short Screenplay Competition deadline
on April 30th. If you were part of our Virtual Table Read, you know just how challenging a job
our judges are going to have!
If you missed it – and even if you didn’t – check out the article the Hollywood Foreign Press
Association wrote about our Virtual Table Read:
It means so much to us that you all showed up for our youth, validating their stories and
experiences. And we know it meant the world to them as well!
Stay tuned throughout Foster Care Awareness Month as we announce the finalists – &
ultimately, the winner – of the KITS National Short Screenplay Competition!!
